A nice example of Stephen Bennett playing "Big Mama"

 "Oregon"

Stephen's

"Big Mamma"

Dyer Style 4

The inspiration:

Stephen Bennett's "Big Mama"

shown n the left is a remarkable playing and sounding harp guitar. Being passed down to Stephen from his Great Grandfather. There is a full artical written by Gregg Miner of www.harpguitars.net that really goes into depth on the story of this harp guitar.  link:  http://www.harpguitars.net/history/month_hg/month-hg-3-09.htm

#800 Style 4 on the middle right is owned now by owned by us at Dyer and is a very close match to "Big Mama"  Very similar in shape, playability and sound as well as age.  This harp guitar also spent 80 years in Oregon very close to Stephen's Grandfathers "Big Mama"  so it faced the same climate during most of it's life.
